This wonderful turn of the century house is set back overlooking a marina with a view that never gets boring. With the Estuary, The Troia Peninsula, the Arrabida Mountains, The Castle, The Ships, the mouth to the Sea and even the local Dolphin Population keeping you entertained at times right from your front room. The sunsets can be some of the most relaxing & inspiring sights during your whole stay. The areas "Microclimate" means temperatures are at most times higher than Lisbon and more in line with the Algarve.
There are 2 apartments in this house both with their own access. The first consisting of the whole ground floor of the house with one large bedroom. There is another front lounge with round dining room table seating 6, 2 x WC (one en suite) The view from the front room is absolutely fantastic. The house has one main private gate but once in the grounds of the house this floor in particular has it´s own private entrances including a door straight from your bedroom to the patio. The patio is very private orange trees, garden furniture, and barbecue. This patio is shared with the owners apt upstairs and privacy is honoured. The apt sleeps 3 very comfortably though extra bedding can be arranged in the lounges for extra children etc.
The Second Apartment (The Annex) or "Granny Flat" is a cute split level apartment with the bedroom upstairs. High ceilings and an open kitchen gives the apartment a very old quaint feel however along with the whole house it has been newly renovated.
Located in the old picturesque fishermen's part of town this area boasts some of the freshest fish you will ever see in a restaurant and many dining spots for other tastes. The house is on the outskirts of the city centre offering you seclusion yet easy access to the city centre at the same time; the main city square is only a 10 minute walk away. All over the old town you will find cafes, shopping, restaurants and the beautiful architecture Setubal has to offer. A 15 minute walk brings you to the bar and club area for those looking to stay out later.
The apt contains a kitchen, gas hobs, fridge/small freezer, ironing board & iron, dehumidifier, small TV with built in DVD with a mix of DVDs to watch. (Internet access, printer and fax can be arranged on request at extra cost.) Located 3 mins from the house is a ferry which takes you across the river to the Troia resort and the beginning of white sandy beaches for the next 40km. Go on foot or take a different ferry just down the road with your car and visit some of the further best spots to go like "Comporta Cafe". Short car journeys from Setubal will also take you to many other beautiful beaches through the Arrabida Nature Reserve like portinha da Arrabida. Stop for some amazing nature walks and breathtaking views over the ocean. For those wanting the "faster big city" adventure, Lisbon and Lisbon airport are both less than 45km away. Trains into Lisbon are very frequent and the local train station is less than a 15 minute walk from the house. Go for a great day or night out in Lisbon and come back to the serenity this fantastic house has to offer.
